PRACTICE Tong Ren is a Complementary therapy,
rather than an alternative to traditional medical care. Practitioners depend on
the physician to diagnose the cause of an illness and do not diagnose,
prescribe, interfere with traditional medical advice or promise a cure.
Typically, no physical contact is involved or necessary, so Tong Ren is often
practiced as a distance modality. Using a lightweight magnetic hammer, the
practitioner taps on targeted points on a small human anatomical model, an
energetic representation of the individual. Chi is thus directed to blockage
points corresponding to the individual\'s condition, breaking down resistance at
these points, When blood flow, neural transmission and hormone reception are
restored, the individual moves toward healing and revitalization.
