Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback is a technology that has come into its own over the
past decade and a half, despite a history that extends back well into
the late 19th Century when it was realized that you could read the
electrical activity of the brain. But it was several decades before it
was understood that you could voluntarily change your brain waves-- in
fact, that the brain could learn, via neurofeedback.
Neurofeedback developed through the identification of brain waves of
different frequencies, and the deliberate training up or down of their
amplitudes. But it has only been in the last few years, as computer
resources became more powerful, that neurofeedback has really come into
its own. It is now understood that changing your brain waves can
significantly change your life, affecting your well-being in many ways.
